As an instructional designer I study digital media and learning theory with the goal to further the union of education and entertainment. I have experience with how-to videos, tutorials, commercial video, vlogging, and animation (see below).
I’ve developed more than 150 videos among my 4 YouTube channels.
Instructional Video
I developed this video on e-learning for an instructor training course at Utah State University. Given the content, I scripted, filmed, and edited this video with feedback and support from my team.
How-to Video
I developed this video for a technical writing class at Utah State University. I use text, graphics, and sound effects to help teach resume writing.
Astronomy Series
This video is Part of my 12-video series on the Zodiacal Constellations. In these videos, I cover each constellation, its notible stars and deep-sky objects, and where and when to find it.
Premiere Tutorial
Also developed for a technical writing class, this tutorial demonstrates my use of screen recording software and writing for a specific audience.
How it’s Made Video
Filmed on a Panasonic Lumix GF7 this piece combines dozens of shots into an easy to follow “How It’s Made” style video with a carefully scripted voice over.
30 Second Commercial Ad
Filmed in front of a white backdrop, this short video uses close up, macro-shots of many different knives available at a local cooking shop.
Interview Style Video
Created during my undergraduate studies in broadcast journalism, this video combines interviews and b-roll to tell a short narrative.
